A two-class extension to the main school buildings at Rocklands School in Lichfield has provided valuable additional teaching and learning space for staff and pupils.
The striking design of the two-classroom extension and link corridor features a bold blue render finish to one side, and more traditional timber cladding to the other, which both blends with the school’s woodland setting, and yet also makes a bold architectural statement about the school’s forward looking vision.
Internally, Fords of Blythe Bridge created two fully accessible class rooms with adjoining stores and WC facilities, along with a glazed link corridor to the existing school.
External works included full landscaping and turfing, the creation of woodland-style soft play pathways, and a new playground area incorporating a soft play race track and tarmac play area.
