A beautifully designed two-classroom extension at The Mosley Academy has enabled this popular and thriving small village school to expand and open its door to more pupils in the local area.
With an outstanding rating from Ofsted and a highly caring ethos, demand for places at The Mosley Academy is understandably high.
To enable this thriving primary school to expand from a five class school to a one form entry primary school, Fords of Blythe Bridge was appointed to design and build a two-classroom extension to accommodate increased pupil numbers.
Designed with an elegant butterfly roof, brick and Western red cedar cladding and aluminium powder-coated windows, doors and rainwater goods, the extension has been sympathetically designed to blend in well with both the existing school and surrounding buildings in the rural village of Anslow.
Internally, the extension provides two new class bases with interactive white boards, integral stores, resource areas and colourful washroom areas to both rooms, as well as a shared lobby and circulation space. A bespoke acoustic pocket door gives the school the flexibility of maintaining two separate class rooms or opening up to create one single learning area.
Externally, Fords of Blythe Bridge carried out significant hard and soft landscaping works, including the creation of a new car park and pathways, soft play area, fencing and the installation of a bespoke sensory canopy.
Delivered on time and on budget, the school and designers Entrust were delighted with the end result, and the invaluable benefits it will deliver to the local community.
