The start of a new year brings with it the opportunity to evaluate our position as one of Staffordshire’s leading timber framed construction specialists with 2018 proving to be no exception.
Many organisations are now seeing the benefits both in terms of cost and delivery time for the construction of timber framed buildings. Timber alternatives often provide a more affordable construction solution whilst helping organisations meet their sustainability and carbon footprint responsibilities through the use of greener materials and cleaner construction techniques.
The number of timber framed construction projects we successfully completed in 2018 helps give a clear indication of how Ford’s has not only maintained but also grown its reputation as one of the region’s leading timber framed construction providers, completing numerous school extensions projects across the region and beyond.
During 2018 our team successfully secured over £3 million in contracts and were proud to be able to work towards creating much needed additional teaching and recreational space for various educational institutions.
Here’s a look at some of our timber framed construction projects from 2018
1. Thomas Russell Infants & Junior School, Staffordshire
Works at Thomas Russell Infants and junior Schools saw us appointed to carry out the design and build of two standalone classroom blocks.
The expansion at the schools has provided much-needed additional classroom places for pupils living in the village.
2. Windmill LEAD Academy, Nottingham
This beautifully designed new extension now provides a warm welcome to staff, pupils and visitors at the Windmill LEAD Academy in Nottingham.
The modern design of the extension coupled with extensive hard and soft landscaping to the front courtyard has truly transformed the main entrance to the school.
3. Walton Priory Middle School, Staffordshire
This major new build, extension and refurbishment project was completed at Walton Priory Middle School in Stone.
The striking architectural design with its bold use of colour and fully glazed front facade helps create a strong first impression for visitors arriving at the school.
4. Christchurch Academy, Stone, Staffordshire
This thoughtfully designed extension to the existing dining hall at Christchurch Academy is now providing a much-needed additional internal and alfresco dining area.
This project was commissioned in order to create additional dining space and accommodate increasing pupil numbers.
A big thanks goes out to our dedicated and experienced workforce without which none of these achievements would be possible.
As our workforce continues to grow in 2019, having taken on several new apprentices already, we look forward to the exciting year ahead.
