A major extension, refurbishment and new build project at Parkside Primary School has delivered immediate and measurable benefits to staff, pupils and the wider local community in Stafford.
The multi-phased extension programme has helped address the pressure on school places within the Stafford area. It has provided two new additional class bases in the main school building, and a standalone early years building, which provides nursery and pre-school education on site as well as much needed wrap-around care for parents.
In addition, extensions to the existing school hall and to the existing staff room have provided much needed additional floor space and resource for this successful and growing primary school, enhancing and upgrading existing facilities to provide a first-rate learning environment
The design successfully utilised existing space, transforming underused areas of the school footprint into new teaching areas without taking away from the green space and play areas that are so important to the school. Furthermore, by infilling the three external walls of a quadrangle area and creating just one external wall, the project will significantly reduce heat loss from the main school building, lowering energy consumption and reducing the carbon footprint of the school.
Parkside Primary School and Entrust were delighted with the quality of the finished build, and the transformation and positive effect it has had upon the school. The project was completed on time and on budget, and to an exceptionally high standard.
To celebrate the fantastic new facilities and buildings and the positive impact they have had on teaching and learning within the school, the buildings were officially opened by Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy.
