The newly built Tom Thumb Nursery offers early years facilities for children aged from 0 up to 4 years of age and wraparound before and after school care for pupils attending the adjoining Richard Clarke First School.
As a result, thanks to the new nursery building which was designed and built by Fords of Blythe Bridge, nursery and wraparound care is now available for the first time within the local community, meaning parents no longer have to travel out of the area for childcare provision.
The building was specifically designed with early years care in mind, which is a key advantage of the bespoke modular design offered by Fords of Blythe Bridge. Separate indoor play areas ensure care provision appropriate to different age groups, and the free flow onto the large canopy-covered soft play area encourages outdoor play in all weather.
Internally, the nursery benefits from a bespoke layout which meets the everyday needs of the nursery staff, including a kitchenette with servery in which to prepare fresh food, as well as a separate milk preparation room, office and infant toilet areas.
Security was also a key concern and so the nursery has been equipped with electronic call entry, digilock access to the main nursery rooms and finger guard protection fitted to all doors as standard.
